At the Enterprise 2.0 conference in Boston today, IBM will announce the latest member of its cloud service portfolio, LotusLive Connections.
The new offering, which combines business social networking with collaboration tools, is designed to extend IBM’s reach further into new markets.
Using core elements from the Lotus Connections (the existing on-premise social software solution), LotusLive Connections is about connecting colleagues, partners, suppliers and customers, and it is scheduled to be available on June 30, 2009 at prices starting below $10 per user per month.
I’m really excited about this new service, as it brings LotusLive within the reaches of smaller businesses and those for whom cost is the key selection criteria. More details will follow later today!
