IBM Workplace Collaborative Learning builds on core Lotus Learning Management System capabilities
IBM Workplace Collaborative Learning (WCL) 2.7 is a portal-based learning management system that provides learning services to help organizations manage their training programs more efficiently and integrates learning resources on the desktop. Integration with Workplace Collaborative Learning delivers blended learning experiences and provides students with enhanced tools such as course discussion areas, document sharing, Web conferencing, and chat rooms.

What’s new in IBM Workplace Collaborative Learning 2.7

  • IBM Workplace Collaborative Learning 2.7 addresses various customer requests to further enhance the user interface (UI), usability, stability, and reliability of the application. A few feature enhancements are also available such as:
  • Administrative and student UI refresh
  • Usability enhancements to core administrative areas such as course management and results
  • Integration with IBM Lotus Sametime 7.5 for instant messaging and Web conferences
  • Integration with IBM Lotus Quickr for course collaboration capabilities
  • Support for multiple content servers to house content near users for enhanced performance
  • Capability to add critical learning information such as course, users, results, masters, and offering in bulk.

Great news that Commonstore is already supporting Domino 8 and Exchange 2007, as well as the new installation and search enhancements.  Also, the new features in WCL sounds really useful, particularly the integration with Quickr and Sametime.  I’m surprised that IBM has kept the “Workplace” moniker though…
